Terms of Service
Effective date:
Scope
These terms govern your use of Clean Cut Lawns services in Canada. By requesting a quote, creating a booking, or receiving any service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
Quick navigation
Definitions
- “We”, “us”, “our” means Clean Cut Lawns and its contractors.
- “You”, “your” means the account holder, property owner, or authorized agent requesting services.
- “Services” include lawn mowing, edging, trimming, cleanup, seasonal yard tasks, and any add-ons quoted by us.
Scheduling & Access
- Keep gates unlocked on service day or provide access codes in advance. Dogs and pets must be secured indoors.
- We may adjust schedules due to weather, daylight, equipment maintenance, or safety conditions. We will notify you of material changes when feasible.
- Service windows are estimates, not guarantees. Routes are optimized to minimize drive time.
- Obstructions (toys, hoses, furniture, debris, excessive waste) may limit service. If unsafe, we may skip or perform partial service.
- In winter or heavy rain, certain tasks may be postponed for turf health and operator safety.
Bookings & Changes
Bookings can be one-time or recurring. Quotes are based on lot size, grass height, obstacles, and frequency. We may adjust the quote on arrival if conditions differ materially from the description or photos provided.
- Rescheduling: request at least 24 hours in advance, subject to route availability.
- Add-ons (bagging, haul-away, weed pulling, bed edging) must be requested prior to the visit to ensure time allocation.
- Photos: You authorize us to take “before/after” photos strictly for service verification and quality control. We will not publish identifiable images of your home without your permission.
Pricing & Payments
All prices are in CAD and subject to applicable taxes. Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed.
- Authorization: You authorize us to capture payment to your saved method on completion. A temporary pre-authorization may be placed prior to service.
- Late fees: Unpaid invoices accrue interest at 2% per month (26.8% per annum) or the maximum permitted by law.
- Chargebacks: Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may be treated as non-payment. You remain responsible for any unpaid balances and reasonable collection costs.
- Re-quotes: Overgrowth (excess height, moisture, thatch) may incur a one-time recovery fee. We will communicate material changes before proceeding where feasible.
- Discounts: Promotions apply to labour only unless stated and cannot be combined or retroactively applied.
Cancellations
Cancel at least 24 hours before your slot to avoid a cancellation fee.
- 24+ hours: no fee.
- Less than 24 hours: up to 50% of the visit price to cover routing and time allocation.
- No access upon arrival (locked gate, aggressive pet): up to 75% of the visit price may be charged.
- Weather postponements by us: no fee; we will reschedule to the next available window.
User Obligations
- Prepare the property by removing obstacles and pet waste. Excessive waste may result in a surcharge or skip.
- Provide accurate property details and keep contact/payment information current.
- Do not request unsafe tasks (steep slopes, hazardous materials, beyond equipment ratings). We reserve the right to refuse unsafe work.
- Watering and lawn health practices remain your responsibility unless you purchase a dedicated program.
- Neighbors and property lines: You are responsible for ensuring we work only within your property boundaries.
Liability
We are not liable for hidden obstacles or pre-existing lawn conditions. Our maximum liability is limited to the service fee paid.
- No warranty is made for outcomes affected by underlying turf conditions, pests, irrigation, soil, or weather.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, or loss of use.
- Minor cosmetic scuffs may occur from normal edging/trimming. We aim to minimize risk and will assess reasonable remedies when we are at fault.
- Third-party items (landscape lighting, irrigation heads, low-voltage wires) must be flagged or disclosed to reduce risk.
Damages & Claims
- Report concerns within 48 hours of service with photos and a description so we can investigate and remedy if responsible.
- We may request access for inspection. Do not alter or repair the alleged damage before our review unless necessary to prevent further harm.
- When we are responsible, remedies are limited to re-service, reasonable repair, or a refund up to the service fee paid for that visit.
Satisfaction
If you are not satisfied, contact us within 48 hours and we will re-service problem areas at no additional charge where feasible.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate services for non-payment, safety concerns, abuse, or repeated cancellations. You may cancel recurring services at any time with at least 24 hours’ notice before the next scheduled visit.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflicts of laws principles. The courts located in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction.
Updates to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply on posting to this page. If changes materially affect your recurring service, we will provide notice using your contact on file.
